What To Do If Your Child Is The Bully?

It can be a really big problem for any parent if their child is getting bullied. But if you’re the parent of a bully, it can be an equally big problem.
It is important for parents to find out what causes their children to become bullies. According to research, children who resort to bullying often exhibit the following:
-lack of empathy and compassion for others’ feelings
-may be expressing anger about events in their lives
-want to be in control
-have low self-esteem
-may be trying to impress their peers
-come from families where parents or siblings bully
-do not receive adequate parental attention or supervision
-have parents that do not enforce discipline
-may be victims of bullying or are trying to retaliate


But parents need not worry much cause there are many things that can be done to stop your children from bullying others. These are the tips:
-You will most likely deal with school officials and the bullied child’s parents so it’s best to manage your emotions properly. Keep calm.
-After listening to what other people say about your child’s behavior, don’t forget to listen to your child’s side of the story as well. Understand what is behind the behavior.
-Explain to your child the harm caused by their behavior.
-Make your child realize how it feels to be bullied. Then help them find out how they can apologize to the child they have harmed.
-Let your child know that you are not going to tolerate bullying. And that there will be consequences if it will not stop.
-Praise your child when they show good behavior towards others.
-Consider mental health counselling for your child if the bullying does not stop.
