No to junk foods




Are you a junk food lover? I think we all are. All over the world, we can’t deny that this very appealing food attracts us from the appearance up to the taste! It looks so special and we are so glad to share it with our family. It is easy to carry, prepare and eat. That’s why we are choosing fast food like fries, burger and junk food snacks over healthy foods.

People say that everything in this world has its own value. That’s true even for junk foods. They can actually be good. Some can be good for the heart . Certain junk foods contain good amounts of antioxidants which is good for our health. However, it doesn’t mean that junk food is recommended to eat.

Here are some reasons why we have to say NO to junk foods.
High calories

Junk foods are high in calories. And if we have more calories than our body needs, the remaining calories are converted into fats. And more fats can lead us to health problems. Too much fats raise the cholesterol in the blood which can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Less nutrients

Nutrients in our body is very important. There are six essential nutrients which include carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and water. These nutrients are necessary for our body to stay healthy and function properly. Think of how our body will work without or with less nutrients?


Junk foods can kill people

A study from the University of Florida says that eating fast food may kill people. It can cause heart disease, obesity and diabetes among rats. And these kind of diseases are some of the biggest causes of death all over the world.

Now that we know the disadvantages of eating unhealthy foods like junk foods, we should learn how to avoid this. We should practice mindful eating. Plan our meals. Drink more water. Fight stress, because stress can lead us to craving foods and eating junk foods.
